Sack Apple Pies
Sack apple pies have been a Sweet Shoppe treat for over 40 years... and if you've never tried one, you really don't know what you're missing!
First, we start off with fresh North Carolina-grown Stayman Winesap apples; there are no finer apples for baking pies to be found anywhere! Then we add a little Sweet Shoppe love and magic, and voila! The best apple pie known to folks in the Triad area.
Karen Hannah of The Sweet Shoppe Bakery proudly displays these tasty pies in the photo seen on the right.
Why are these called "Sack Apple Pies"? These unique pies are baked in a paper sack to make the crust even crustier.
